[DeTomaso] Project on Ebay

When I bought the 911 Carrea from a junk yard (in NY) I had to first check
that it wasn't listed as a stolen car. Then I had to do a search for a
registered lien holder. Then I had to place ads in publications that met
certain criteria that I no longer remember. Then I had to send a registered
letter to the last lien holder informing them that I held a mechanics lien
on the car. To make a long story short once I determined the car wasn't
reported as stolen and the lien holder didn't reply to my registered letter
I took the paper work to Rhode island , I had a house in Newport at the
time ( which accepted a hand written bill of sale) and was issued a Rhode
island Registration and lic. plates. I then took the RI registration to
Virginia beach ( which is where I had my legal residence) and they issued a
Virginia title. The VA DMV did make me sign an affidavit stating that I
would cooperate and return the VA title if someone appeared in VA with a
valid title from another state. So as I said earlier it was possible( At
the time ) . I never had my title challenged and no other owners
materialised. In this case I paid $10,000 for the car and it was worth
$35,000 (Which I collected when the Porsche was stolen while I was in NYC)
So there needs to be a potential for a decent upside to make the whole
thing worth while. I know there are firms that will guarantee to get you a
valid title for a fee.

A A AA AA A 42 process...but that was because they knew that was
the only

A A AA A in

A A AA AA A The "title 42" process recently changed dramatically.
People
A A were
A A AA A using
A A AA AA A that process to obtain titles for cars that they
purchased
A A without

A A AA AA A Which admittedly seems justifiable because there
SHOULD be a

without a

A A AA A For
A A AA AA A example...a man has a car in a barn or hayfield...
his

A A AA AA A owned it, left it to his son who left it to his son
and the
A A title
A A AA AA A hasn't been seen in decades. There honestly should be
a way for

42
A A paperwork,
A A AA AA A falsifying the names for mechanics and owners and all
the
A A AA A requirements
A A AA AA A therein, and getting titles issued for cars they
purchased
A A under
A A AA A honest
A A AA AA A conditions. The DMV / Tax Commission finally caught
on and
A A changed
A A AA A the
A A AA AA A process in Oklahoma. I haven't seen the new process
in detail
A A yet but
A A AA AA A its now a FELONY to falsify your information in such
process,
A A and
A A AA A there
A A AA AA A is several checks and balances in place to ensure you
don't.
A A Plus
A A AA A even
A A AA AA A the original title 42 process is like an out-of-state
A A purchase...a
A A AA AA A visual vin inspection is required by the title
agency.
A A AA AA A Not sure what other states are doing. I even know
people are
A A doing
A A AA A the
A A AA AA A title 42 in OTHER states, Then importing the car into
their own
A A to
A A AA AA A skirt the process. Moral of the story... Im not
saying it cant
A A be
A A AA A done,
A A AA AA A but be VERY clear about what you need to do in order
to obtain
A A the
A A AA AA A title, prior to buying.A Do your research first.AAA
Some states
A A do
A A AA A allow
A A AA AA A a process for affidavit signing and a court-order
issued
A A title... but
A A AA AA A they only time I have seen that work is if its a car
