[DeTomaso] Problems with engine shutting down

Have you checked for a vacuum leak? I had a similar problem with my car and I found that my intake manifold was not torqued to proper specs, in fact the bolts were so loose I could turn them with my fingers. I would also look for leaks at the gasket under the carburetor. Check your vacuum advance to see if it is leaking as well, if you have one. A vacuum leak will drive you crazy if you have one and it certainly might show up more as the engine warms up.

Check the float levels on the carb. A bad coil can cause similar problems also.

You guys have bailed me out a number of times and I appreciate the help. My
totally stock late 74 is shutting down when I come to or nearly comes to a
stop. It still has all the smog stuff it came with. Worse in warm weather.
It first started coming off the track at Fire Bird a couple of years ago.
Flipped it in neutral came to a stop but it started right up as it always
does. It has gotten a lot worse. Very hard to park it at a car show. Just
dies. Doesn't do it every time but almost. Put pertronix in it but no
change. It will go like heck at any speed with no problems. Starts up cold
fine. Choke works fine. Kicks down when warm. Then after it gets warmed up
the problem starts. Any ideas?
