[DeTomaso] Radiator Tube Insulation

So I'm getting a few items together before I get my car back on the 
road.  Way back when I used to drive my car, I noticed significant heat 
coming into the cabin from the radiator tubes that pass under the shifter.

What is the best solution to keep this heat out?
Should I put some aluminizied heat barrier between the tubes and the 
bottom of the car?
Or does it go under the center console inside the car?
