Does anyone know the history of the "FORD" cars - for example, when did Ford
looked after quality control, and sales?

I believe the first push button in the US is #1286. A friend has #1297 and
it's a push button. I have #1333 and its a push button. I have always heard
that there were 75 push buttons imported to the US and then rectangular door
pulls started.

Thanks,
I called Wilkinson, they know of 1001, but do not have it.

He also said the crashed cars never had serial numbers, good to know.

So theoretically, if you have #1500, it is the 500th Pantera.

So mine #1660 is the 660th car built ( June 71 ).

He also confirmed that the first rectangular door handle was #1286, thus
1001 thru #1285 were pushbuttons ( subject to Italian build order as we all
know ).
More info for the list.
Michael

    Knowing that the

serial numbers started at 1000

and knowing that 3 were allegedly

destroyed for crash testing

    assuming these were 1001, 1002, and 1003.

Is the whereabouts of 1004 known,

what is the earliest known Pantera in

existence?
