[DeTomaso] NPC: 4 post car lifts

Mine is not bolted and very steady, in fact it was actually recommend not to bolt the lift to the floor in a seismic zone as you want the energy to dissipate via the lift 'walking' a little rather than the mass of the car rocking.

I like the idea of having the possibility of fitting caster wheels so lift can be moved if needed.Realize it's not recommended to move the lift with a car on it though!
So there is no risk of having the lift not bolted to the floor?Especially if there's a vehicle stored at the top?Is it very steady just resting on those 4 posts?Cheers Bjoern

As Jim says my wheels (casters really) are removable and work under the weight of the lift, so easy to place and then get the lift in the exact position you want it or occasionally I use them to move the lift to the other side of the garage if access is required etc.
