[DeTomaso] NPC - [ballotbin website]Voting

I wasn't questioning types of member, just the fact that an Associate Member votes via the ballot of a Regular Member and in your own words you have no way of telling who voted, so what you may be seeing in the tally are not the votes/opinions of those Associate Members, but twice the opinion of the Regular Member. Any Regular Member can register an Associate Member (and I encourage all to do so now) and thereby gain two votes.

This is straight out of our bylaws, their is no debacle:

Classification of Members: There shall be three (3) classes of members of the Club; Regular members, Associate members, and Honorary members, which are defined as follows:(a) Regular Members: The Regular members of the Club shall consist of those persons who have an interest in the furtherance of the DeTomaso marque and DeTomaso automobiles. Each Regular member shall have equal voting rights, and each Regular member in good standing shall have one vote.(b) Associate Members: The spouse of a Regular member, or one (1) other person designated by the Regular member shall be Associate members. The designation of an Associate member shall be made by the Regular member on his/her initial membership application or at the time of submitting a renewal application. A child of a Regular member shall be eligible for membership as the Associate member provided that he/she resides in the same household with the Regular member, resides in an educational institution of higher learning, or is in the armed forces. Written somewhat tongue in cheek, but the POCA voting debaucle does not
want to die. A member effectively gets two votes if he/she regsiters an
associate for the same one entry fee; IMO either update the Associate
Member register with contact details to ensure one person gets one vote
or restrict voting to fully paid up primary members only.
So California gives illegals driving licenses and now there's no
requirment to prove US Citizenship to vote....Hmmmmmm
I suspect on the subject of a US Citizenship test I could outperform
many CItizens....

Hmmmm?
Me thinks (that's kinda British sounding, eh?) (A little Canadian
thrown in for good measure too, eh?) Julian better do some more
studying before taking a US citizenship test. ;>)
Larry -
actually, most US Polticians' view of US election voting policy is
something like - "Citizens can (unless we disenfranchise them through
new voting regulations) vote for whoever they want. The guys who send
me money will control what I do and for whom."
