Simpler?

I'm no digital native nor a quick digital learner, and perhaps my iMac experience somehow differs from that of a PC user on this issue, or my Firefox browser affects the process differently than other browsers, so please correct me if I'm missing something or just not understanding.

Also, I've had TinyURL in my bookmarks toolbar for so long that I honestly do not remember how I put it there, nor did I re-read the instructions when I recently visited and then posted the TinyURL web address. But if I could do it, anyone can.

That said,

To get a random Tiny URL for the page you are viewing:

As your suggest:

1 - copy looong URL from browser window
2 - type in web address of TinyURL
3 - open a window to TinyURL
4 - paste in the looong URL
5 - click "make TinyURL" button
6 - copy Tiny URL

With it readily "clickable" in your bookmarks toolbar:

1 - click toolbar bookmark for TinyURL
2 - copy Tiny URL

Digital flame suit on ..

Larry

Isn't it simpler to just go to http://tinyurl.com and paste the long URL in one
box, click the Make TinyURL! button and then copy the short URL and paste it
wherever you want? No need to download and install anything.

Cheers,
Thomas
