Is this something like the 1 in 10 rule?  

GT5 is listed on eBay with a $499K but it now price.

Ad says the car may soon be a 20 - 30 million dollar car, like the Ferrari GTO

This kind of reminds me of a story I heard back in the 80s when I first joined the SCCA and starting my education on exotic cars.  I remember some of the members talking about how the 427 cobra owners all decided to list their cars for sale for an outrageous price many, many times over the current market value.  The effect was that the market value automatically jumped for their cars, the reason being there were so few made that they controlled the market.

Don't know if the story is true or not.
