[DeTomaso] Side gill studs, threaded or not?

I've repaired a couple of gill-studs that snapped off; I think they're shrink-fitted or pressed into the pot-metal casting. Some guys that break them just drill clear through for a new stud, tap the hole and use Bondo or black paint to kind-of-hide the hole(s).

I believe they have studs on them and are held on with wing nuts on the
   back side.

As the topic says, are the studs just threaded into the gill or are
   they cast/pressed in?
