Friends,
I may be able to shed light on this my Ferrari Dino 308 GT4 has all Veglia gauges. I like them and like the ones on the Pantera!!
I think they are beautiful and as long as the work Im happy. Looked at a very nice 72 with new white faced gauges to me
it was upsetting. I will say on my car removing them is VERY hard it took at least 8 hours to get the clock out.
But on a Ferrari access is what is what makes most jobs difficult! Here is a pic of the GT4 dash.
My dream is to get an early car so I can complain about how inaccurate they are just as on the Ferrari! HA
The Speedo and Tach work just fine! Hell they may have Fiat sending units! Here is the oil pressure sending unit below the Baldwin Filter.
I guess my point is Veglia Gauges Rock!

Chuck, I'd be willing to bet that Veglia gauges used in a Ferrari do
NOT use cheap, mismatched Ford electric senders. IMHO this is where the
inaccuracy lies, not in the gauges themselves. FWIW- J DeRyke

Subject: [DeTomaso] Veglia Gauges: the weekend dumb question
Dear Forum,
I recently saw a lovely video from AutoWeek about a
bespoke car builder in New Zealand who hand fabricated a classic
Ferrari 250 GTO for a customer. As I watched it, I noticed that the
Ferrari GTO copy used Veglia gauges.
I have heard aspersions and insults cast upon the
Pantera Veglia gauges for inaccuracy, variability, etc, etc. I had
assumed that they were mundane, run of the mill, cheap, average Italian
gauges.
However, Ferrari used them on the iconic 250 GTO
and raises my weekend dumb question:
Veglia gauges: how good are they really in
the context of Italian sports cars of the sixties and seventies?
Warmest regards, Chuck Engles
