[DeTomaso] Front Brake Caliper Piston Sticking

I've had the hose issues with the British cars, often the clutch is affected, takes several minutes for the clutch to re-engage. Also have reached through the wire spoke wheels with a wrench to open a bleeder.
Some temptation to change the brake fluid before I leave, but any work on the car this close to the "green flag" is tempting fate ... plus might not like what I find. Imagine the irony if I'm forced to take the Ferrari instead.
Only the left front is affected, so root causes that would affect both wheels can be ruled out.
While we're in the 'hood, a local hydraulics shop offers brake hose replacement, they cut off the old hose, weld their barb to old fittings and crimp on a new hose. DOT approved too. I've not tried it yet.
( I'm separating my paragraphs with "carriage returns", but they seem to be stripped out ? )
Thanks,
GD

Guido, simple test, all you will need to do is open the bleeder on the
dragging caliper to see if there is any pressure and that it frees up after
removing the pressure.

+2 on the brake lines
I had similar symptoms with my Dino and when I took off the old hoses and
cut them in half I found there was essentially no lumen. The rubber had
deteriorated and swollen and occluded the hose. This creates exactly what
you describe-- the fluid is slow to get thru the hose so the caliper is slow
to respond, then once it is in there the collapsed hose acts like a one-way
valve to hold pressure in the caliper until it slowly seeps out.
