The horror! I saw a Cadillac-camino once. These kind of hack jobs
always look very stupid to me. Kind of like those silly Aussie

time my buddy called me up to help him make a convertible out of his

We bought a twelver, rented a hand-held chop saw thing that had this
huge, deadly 20" inch blade and by 3:00 in the afternoon we were both
cruising PCH like sneaker pimps. After we cut the top off, nicking the
fuel neck and nearly killing us both in the process, none of the 4
doors would open or shut properly. Of course, the top was structurally
necessary and without it the body of the car sagged in the middle,
pinching the doors. We just left them shut and jumped into the car
like batman and robin. The car wobbled and creaked as we drove and I
advised him to sell it quickly because we had turned it into a death
trap. After about a month of flirting with death-- driving around
town looking hilariously like a low-budget Hollywood movie mogul-- my
buddy sold it for $4,000, if you can believe that. Some sketchy dude
fell in love with it and paid the asking price. Cash flew out his
wallet and the car was gone. Poor sucker drove off with a big smile on
his face. I wonder if he is even alive today…..if he isn't, it may
well be my fault.
