Mike,
Of course there is interest. C'mon dish out the dirt. We wanna hear it!

Brian,
Short answer--yes. It's by far the best book ever written and arguably the only book ever written on the man. Photography and production are simply extraordinary.
However, that recommendation comes with a huge caveat. The story told becomes badly distorted and the narrative diverges widely from the truth the further into the book you get. It is woefully incomplete as there are several whole chapters that were completely left out at the end.
I worked closely with the author to produce this book, spending untold hours on the project with him. We were both deeply disappointed with the final result, me more so than him, as ultimately he found he had zero power to influence the direction the book was taking--in fact at the end he found himself fired from the project by the Italian publisher! The American publisher signed on as a junior partner and got taken for a wild ride as a result.
With all that said, it is still far and away the best book ever produced relating to De Tomaso and is very much worth owning. Just have some grains of salt ready as you draw nearer towards the end....
I learned a hell of a lot about the (rather seedy) publishing industry during all of this. I'll happily tell the whole story here if there is interest?
Mike
