Good Morning,
Already this morning I have received emails and messages from around
the world, Japan, Austrailia, Albania, Italy, Hawaii, New Zealand
and literally half the states of the USA. It feels good, for that let
me say Thank You. I appreciate your confidence, support and your
votes.
Thanks to the Board of Directors for handling the election process in
the manner that was used, a third party solution was what was best
for the club and it worked. Clearly, we need to reduce the voting
period which was established when snail mail was the norm, let me
share
that waiting six weeks for results is nerve wrecking. Congratulations
to the other winning candidates, I hope that those that were not
victorious will
continue to work hard on behalf of the club, we will need you now more
than ever.
I ran on a platform of change and I have a long list of ideas,
transparency being primary among them in all club business.
There were 5,244 Panteras imported into the USA, there are probably
4,000 left plus another 500 Detomaso cars in the country, the club
currently
represent less 20% of those owners, we can do better and we will, but
it's up to us to make it happen. We are all ambassadors for the club,
I would ask that
between now and the first of the year that you assemble a list of
prospects that are not POCA members and chat with them, then in
January, if a proposal
that I'm going to put before the board during our first meeting passes,
it will be worth your effort to sign them up as members.
I ran on adding benefits to being a POCA member like the 5% Collector
Car discounts I was able to negoitiate, if you know of other situations
or
opportunities where everybody wins, please contact me and let's make
those happen. Membership should be FREE, and by that I mean the
benefits of
membership should far outweigh the small cost of our dues, depending
upon your insurance costs, it may already be free for you now.
We have some house cleaning to do, clarifications, some listening time,
some talking time and then our first meeting of the BOD, after that
I expect that we'll hunker down and get to work to make 2016 the very
best year thus far. Thank you John Buckman, I hope to speak with you
soon and receive the wisdom of your tenure as President.
Until the next email,
Thank you and Merry Christmas,
Michael Shortt
President Elect
