[DeTomaso] Food for Thought - how old are your coolant hoses?

While we're on the topic of replacing hoses and tubes, here's my two cents:
1.  I only use Gates Green stripe hoses...everything else I've used turns to crap sooner than desired.
2.  I use two clamps everywhere (but I run at the track.)  Most anything breaks, at the worst possible moment.
3.  Use care when configuring coolant tubes and hoses:  You should only be traversing short gaps with hose...especially on the radiator return to waterpump run.  The system can generate significant negative head pressure there and collapse an extended length of hose, constricting the flow you are trying to support.  Don’t ask how I know this.  ;^)
P.S.  how many of you are still counting on the original steel brake lines (god forbid the original brake hoses)?  Oy.

I have a full set of new stainless ones going on.  In fact, my old ones just went out in the trash this morning.
