[DeTomaso] Jr. Wilson Pantera wing

Well 4.5 degrees of camber is going to look like one of those ricers with wheels tucked in under the fenders, I'd shoot for 1 degree of camber, but minimum 4.5 digress of caster!

ALL rear wings or spoilers reduce front loading since the car will pivot around its center of balance with applied loads on either end. A wing like Jr's mounted on brackets behind the chassis simply has more leverage to do so. One cannot treat the two ends of the car as independent things in this case.
As for alignment spec's for radial tires, unless you have unlimited power, use as little toe-in as safely possible on either end to reduce tire drag, with at least 4-1/2 degrees of camber for stability. Don't be surprised if the left & right sides wind up with slightly different cambers using identical adjustments. And test the new alignment first! You may not like how it handles. Good luck- J DeRyke

I'd be a little careful about a wing behind the rear axels, the down
force there would reduce the weight on the front wheels. Maybe you
can't get enough down force from this type of wing to create a problem,
but with a 200 MPH plus car, I'd want to be sure.
You might want to talk to Goran ([1]http://www.hemipanter.se/) I
wouldn't be surprised if he has done some analysis on wings for
Panteras.

I had mine made (the upper part) about 11 years back and that company
is no longer.. it was a modified Corvette wing.... they would not
make
The supports.. that was my design... Jr Wilson is still in Monterey
last I heard... not sure if he has any thing on the wing.. my guess
is it made the whole thing himself as he is a machinist and not
afraid
to fab anything

Hi
I'm the current owner of a Jr. Wilson Pantera and I'm thinking of
rebuilding the "crazy" wing he used when running the Silver State
Classic.
Anyone that have any more pictures that could help me recreating it?
