     A A Hi guys,
A A Some of you may recall that Sigbjorn Eskeland from Norway
     announced he

     for
A A people to meet up with along the way.A I happened to have an
     Orlando
A A layover tonight, and he was able to arrange it so that he was
     in this
A A area at the same time.
A A Rather boldly, he bought a beater Jaguar E-type coupe on E-bay
     awhile
A A back, and he flew over in November to spiff it up a bit before
     taking
A A this springtime road trip with one of his buddies.A They've
     had all
A A sorts of adventures along the way, with the car seeking to
     dismantle
A A itself in various ways.A He had to remove the starter (which
     is
A A impossible to access) and rebuild it in a parking lot, they
A A reupholstered the seats in the parking lot of the Museum of
     Natural
A A History in New York City, and they sizzled a distributor in a
     small
     A A town a few days ago.A Fortunately Summit had a modern
     electronic
A A distributor for an E-type in stock; they ordered at 7 p.m. and
     it was
     A A delivered at 10 a.m. th next morning.
     A A And so on and so forth.A It's a neat car--it has a freshly
     rebuilt
A A later XJS engine, big brakes, and Corvette steel 16-inch
     wheels.
A A The three of us enjoyed a lengthy dinner in an Italian
     restaurant,
A A while they regaled me with tales of their adventures so far.A
     After
A A another day or two here, they will be heading down to Key West
     as their
     A A road trip continues.
A A I have to say, it's pretty bold to take off on such an
     undertaking in a
     A A dodgy E-type, rather than a simple (and simple-to-maintain)
A A contemporary American car.A But it goes really well (he let me
     drive
A A it), makes a glorious noise, and is supremely comfortable.
     A A Great times!
     A A Mike
