The answer is yes they will fit, but the outer wheel/tire edge will sit at a narrow body Pantera fender line is, so they will look quite ridiculous. You coud possibly get wheel spacers to push them out, but likely a 2" or more spacer is required.

He can probably get a set of 17" wheels and tires for not a lot more than rubber for the 15" wheels alone would cost.

Lashdeep sold his GT5S and has a set of Hall Ultra wheels in 17" available http://pantera.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/4250045562/m/8461031556

Tirerack have the 345/35-15 Pirelli rears showing in stock (and on special!) at $698 ea. The Swedish De Tomaso club and afew folks in teh UK had a stash of the Yokohama fronts in 285/40-15.

The alternatives are Michelin TB15 available from Longstone Tyres in the UK shipped to the US at considerably less than Coker sell them for. Or a Pirelli P7 Corsa is available in the 285/40-15 front size, albeit not a great match for the Pirelli P Zero rears.

Subject: [DeTomaso] GT5S question

Dear Forum,

Here is the situation. A friend has a GT5S that is
about to have a new engine installed in the next couple of weeks. He
wants to drive it to Houston. He has fifteen inch tires that were
manufactured , IIRC, in the last century..... He has not had any
luck finding fifteen inch tires.

So, I am taking one of my Panteras. The other one
needs an engine rebuild and won't go. The stay at home Pantera's
seventeen inch wheels (9x17 and 11x17) could be used if they'll fit.

Theoretically, will these wheels, which have the
correct backspacing and offset for a normal Pantera fit on the GT5S?
Obviously, the ultimate test is to physically try them on.

                                     Curious, Chuck Engles
