No, you didn't miss anything. 

The stock 351C has hydraulic lifters and does not need adjustment. 

My engine is not stock, and has solid lifters. Solid lifters require blood sacrifice once a year (or more, depending on your mileage)

Whoa. Whoa wait a minute here.....
We're supposed to be adjusting valve lash on our cars with stock
351C's?

I normally turn the engine over by the balancer bolt.

The EOIC method works faster if you do them by the firing order.  Do
all
of the exhausts, and then all of the intakes.
