FWIW, mechanical breakage of Aldan shocks have been reported as well as leaking from both the upper seal and the adjuster screw o-ring. One vendor refers to Aldans as 'shiny toys'. Viking shocks are quite new- check on the Web in a few years.... They may be an improvement over OEM or Aldans but are also not gas pressurized. Gas pressurized shocks are usually more expensive but reduce or eliminate oil-foaming which happens when a car is driven quickly through a stretch of bumpy road. Foam does not flow through a shock's damping holes like oil does, so uncontrolled bouncing may start. A single open track lap is sometimes enough to start this. When things cool down, control returns. Viking shocks are both damping and rebound-adjustable which may be overkill for most street guys. They typically find adjustments that suit their driving style and never touch the adjusters again.
