Larry,
I run the R6's on my Ultima and experience is thus;
Mostly SCCA club trials track day mileage, I think I have roughly 2,000 miles on it now and about to switch to my 3rd set of tires.
The R6's take time to get heat into them whereas the Autocross A6's are better from cold. I had an extremely lucky near miss when I got a little over ambitious with the right foot on R6's that were still relatively cold after a few miles.
They are next to useless if you are caught out during any rain.
I am struggling to find 15" tires in widths and profiles that work on my GT40 so one option is to have Roger Krause cut tread into a slick, maybe that is something to explore. My experience is that a tire that looks treaded to a cop will garner less attention than one that is obviously a slick and remember as we have discussed before even though the R6 and A6 are "DOT Approved" they are "Not for highway use".
Your Mileage Will Vary!

All,
Anyone have experience with running any of these tires on the street?
I'm running Pantera East 16" & 17", currently with 245/45x16 and 335/35x17 Michelin.
As far as I can tell, street-rated tires in these two sizes from any manufacturer's single product line have totally disappeared.
Cutting back to 225/45x16 and 315/35x17 doesn't seem to offer any joy either. Really not open to anything smaller in the rear.
With spirited driving weekends (no true track days) and numerous road journeys, can I expect a set of these "racetrack and autocross only" to last 5,000 miles? 10,000 miles?
Am I missing any manufacturers besides these three, for these sizes?
Wisdom and guidance appreciated.
Larry
