[DeTomaso] Engine builder / alu block?

Hi,

as I already posted about my 351C unfortunately got 1/2 gallon of coolant
into the oil after first "harder" ride and dyno run.
This is strange as it never went over 6000 rpm or overheated, but from all
the indication it seems it would be cracked cylinder wall.

As I already got a nice CHI 3V heads and CHI high rise intake was thinking
to source a short block engine, ship to Europe and install my heads there.

Was looking at short blocks offered by Ralph M Pici from Powerheads company;
does someone has experience with his company?

Also, I am really intrigued about switching to aluminum block; would anyone
know of a good used block for sale?

I seen McKeown Motorsport sales 351C aluminum block, but they are close to
$5K!
Other option would be going with Ford Motorsport 351 Boss based aluminum
block, they are more affordable at just over $3K, but only available in 9.5
deck height.
I guess, using this Clevor configuration I could do a 427 while using my
heads, intake and headers; this sounds really exciting, but I guess quite a
bit pricier than just finding a second hand 351C standard block...
