A A They make all the cooling bits for most of the F-1 teams, among

A A I have driven a Pantera equipped with one of their radiators.A
     It was
A A exquisitely built, fantastically expensive, and didn't cool
     worth a
     A A damn.A However, I don't blame them--the owner of the car is a
     fanatic
A A about light weight, and he specified that he wanted a radiator
     that was
A A smaller than stock to cut down on the weight of the water it

     summer heat,
A A and the temp needle hovered in the red zone the entire time,

     A A never technically 'overheated'.
A A So, having said all that, I'm sure they could build you a

A A unit as a template for sizing purposes).
A A Having said all THAT, if it was my money being spent, I'd

     first
A A gear behind endless traffic.A My 539 hp engine never got over
     190
A A degrees.A I could see that the #2 radiator fan was cycling on
     and off,
A A indicating that the cooling system was shedding heat
     efficiently enough
A A that it wasn't needed all the time, and certainly was not
     needed
A A anytime we went more than about 25-30 mph.A The #1 fan would
     shut off
A A when driving on the highway, even climbing almost 8000-foot
     mountains.
A A Best thing about a brass radiator is that any local shop can
     repair
A A it.A If you pick up a rock and hole your Fluidyne radiator, it
     goes
     A A into the bin.

Subject:A [DeTomaso] Pantera headlight bucket VIN photos
     Hi guys,
Over the years lots of people have asked about the location of the
VIN stamped in the headlight buckets. The buckets were hand-fitted
to each car and then stamped, so they could be painted separately
and reunited with the proper car.
I happened to have one pass through my hands and broke out the
camera to clear up any confusion once and for all.
Here is a photo of the bucket, where you can just make out the
stamping on the inside, between the two near most studs.
And here is a close up of the stamping, 5503 (RIP).
     Cheers!
     Mike
