I bought a 438" CHI heads Dart iron block Windsor solid roller stroker from MME about 5 yrs ago for my Superformance GT40. It is a fantastic street engine, loads of torque and 630 HP. Apparently part of the secret to a good torquey street motor is lots of cylinder pressure (I recall measuring~220psi cranking pressure), and it doesn't detonate on 93 octane. Therefore, based on my experience, I would definitely recommend a MME engine. Mark Mckeown (owner) has a mechanical engineering degree and he really knows his stuff.
FYI, I considered an AL block for this engine. But when I found out from Mark that it would cost >$3000.00 extra to do everything necessary to make the then current Dart AL block work, I passed. Bottom line: if you do want an AL block engine, I would trust Mark to build the engine correctly to work and last.
