You are right.
The people paying big bucks for low mileage stock cars are collectors who will let it sit in their big garage / warehouse and don't care how it drives (or maybe even if the radiator and brakes are corroded to the point of unusability)

Some of these people who are buying "Stock" low mileage cars (under 10,000 miles) I think are obviously not buying them to drive them , but for investment purposes. So the inadequacies of the truly stock cars are unimportant to them. I bought my car to drive, so the brakes , wheels (needed to fit brakes) cooling, and electronics were important to me. While I was at it doubling the HP didn't seem like a bad idea either! So I may not set any sale price records but if I were buying a car as a non-driving investment I wouldn't have purchased a Pantera,

But fix those basic things and the car is fine and the narrow-bodied
   cars are the purest design

That is exactly why I think Pantera prices for narrow bodied cars will
remain low. Special cars will go up for rarity and historical
significance, but the rest will remain low. (my opinion)

I do not believe they had all the problems everyone complains about. I
drove my mostly stock car every day for about 8 years. The only problems
I had were related to the age of the car.

But the general public and many owners believe they sucked. Even Jay Leno
said in regards to stock Panteras, A^3You donA^1t want that. They werenA^1t
very good from the factory. They overheated. (They had) suspension
problemsAA^2 Suspension problems? Seriously?

But thatA^1s okay with me. Low Pantera prices means some day I might buy
another. If my car were worth $1M, I wouldnA^1t sell.
