     how well it performs and what the wear life is?
     I've heard they cost around $500 each but at least it's an option for
     us guys running factory 10 inch rims to get speed rated street tires.

Yes- and they look good. See the October POCA Newsletter front cover for an AZ Pantera wearing them. I neglected to mention they are V-rated and that Roger Kraus in Castro Valley CA carries them. Not cheap, but what is, these days? The U.S wear index number is not mentioned in their specs and Roger is too busy to return my e-mails, but because it uses "competition" rubber compounds, I'd expect it to be similar to Hoosier DOTs at around 125 (or less). SCCA and some other series changed their rules for 2014 and no longer allow 'R' compound tires with wear ratings less than 125 (200 in 2015) to run in Stock classes. Such tires may become less popular simply because they won't be selling as many. That does not mean the price will come down, though....
