[DeTomaso] Best way to do a Distributorless Ignition System in a Pantera

Biggest problem with Electramotive distributor-less ignitions in years past seems to be, the original pickup sensors had a long unsupported wire going to the pickup that will vibration-crack, and the engine will abruptly quit. There is no fix for the sealed unit; replace the pickup. An industry rep once criticized Electramotive's pickup sensor build quality, but all the failures I've seen (three!) involved the sensor lead if left unsupported. One Pantera owner I know carried a spare sensor plus a spare brain-box with him for years; maybe nowadays their quality is better.
