[DeTomaso] Sept. SSCC

Ken,
What happened with the hood popping open was that I had just noticed that I was in excess of my tech speed and I hit the brakes. My feeling is that the small dip in the nose of the car resulted increased low pressure point over the hood resulting in the hood bowing to such an extent that the rod on the hood that engages the lock pulled out of the lock. At no point did the lock become unlocked. The hood returned to its normal position.

Mark,
Have you done anything to keep the nose from getting light at speeds above 150?

The car felt real good at 165. was very pleased with how she ran. Too
bad the tech speed is 165, I would have liked to have gone
faster. Horse power is not an issue.
There have been times when I've driven at speed with the hood
unlatched, so I knew it was not a problem. I was hoping that I was not
going to get a black flag due to a nervous course worker. Unfortunately
the race was stopped shortly thereafter.

Nice, thanks for sharing.....I've had my steel decklid come up a couple
times...very distracting.
Glad you made it okay....how did your Pantera feel at 160?
Did you feel you had enough down force in front?
Other impressions??
