[DeTomaso] Coyote powered Pantera's value

But how much fun is a stock Pantera? Well, all right, it's pretty fun but
these projects aren't for the value, they're for the fun. Our cars are
still not valuable enough to pay for the money and time invested in keeping
them up but they're close enough that you won't feel too bad about the
money lost when you sell.

I think we can look a bit to the Mustang crowd. I fixed up my '68 Mustang
sports roof with a 289 to have a monster stroked FE motor instead. Does it
hurt the value? Sure. But not too much or at least not enough to keep it
from being fun. The restomods stll don't seem to be selling for as much as
a detailed stocker with Curley's yellow grease pencil painted "OK" on the
differential (because it was made on a Wednesday and everyone knows Curley
had a double shift on Wednesdays).

For a Pantera just look to the Purgold Pantera. Many tens of thousands
invested and it still only fetches the price of a nice stocker. But it was
fun.
