Hi Steve,
I have a tip that goes on my spot welder with a slot in it. You place a
washer (5/16) that you have ground one side flat, then spot weld it to the
body. I like this method as no real special tools are required...ok a
welder. It is very EZ and inexpensive to get washers. The hole in the washer
gives you a nice place to pull from.

Subject: [DeTomaso] Metal Stud Welders- Opinions please?
Greetings!
Need to do some metal work on another car....well my car too...but not
now...... and am looking to pick up a stud welder tool. This is the piece
that spot welds studs to your sheet metal, then you can use a puller or
slide hammer to pull out the dents...then cut off the studs....finish...and
away you go!
Two types..... Electric gun, and the old style that had a piece that
slipped over the nose of your MIG welder.....
Any feedback one way or the other....or on any of the electric ones out
there? What to avoid?????
Thanks a heap!
Steve
