[DeTomaso] Tires

Mike is technically right, but I was thinking in terms of different tires
from the BFGs, with a higher speed rating, or simply better performance. In
my opinion, the BFGs suck for anything other than rolling down the road.
Besides that, I have a "new" set of 305s, so the 295s don't help. It is
about finding matching fronts and rears. With that said, if BFG still made
the 225s, I'd buy them under these circumstances.
I have a previously unused set of 245/50-15s, but they don't fit properly,
and are really too big for the front even with 8" wheels.

>>>Wrongo--Pirelli has never made a 305/35-15. They make a 345/35-15, which is
a totally different animal. It requires a 15x13 (or 15x14) wheel and is only
suitable for a widebody Pantera or a Lamborghini Countach.

That may be, but there are no new tires for the rear available. I do have
a
"brand new" set of rears that have been stored with no light and a/c for
about 6 years, but that's all she wrote.
>>>Also not true. There are quite a few options available in 295/50-15,
including BFG. Right now the hard part is finding a matching 225/50 for the
front.
