[DeTomaso] Harmonic balancer

I thought people liked the Romac damper:

Are there diameter issues, 3 bolt vs 4 bolt pattern, etc?

Ken

Dear Boyd,

There are lots of options.  I would not recommend the
Rattler type balancer, although it might do well in a stock or mildly
modified application.  You could simply get a Ford replacement or
equivalent aftermarket stock type replacement if economy is paramount.

The best ones that I am familiar with are ATI, BHJ and
Rollmaster (IIRC).   I recently bought a BHJ harmonic balancer and it
was a little less than $300.  ATI and Rollmaster are in the same range I
believe.

I suppose that in terms of bang for the buck a stock
type replacement would be adequate for most uses.  If your mildly
modified engine gets flogged, then it I would recommend one of the above
balancers.  They're relatively expensive for a boring engine part, but a
good balancer.......is still boring, but better in the long run for hipo
engines.
