[DeTomaso] replacement seats

No I wouldn't do the same to a vintage Ferrari, Lamborgini, or maserati.A
Pantera isn't in the same league as a vintage Ferrari , Lambo or Maserati
and will never be in the same league. (excluding the crappy
maseratiswhich I wouldn't want to own modified or not) My 73
Pantera isn't a 7 figure car. many people modify their panteras without
having a detrimental effect on their value. I bought my Pantera to drive.
I value it but I value my life more. I have a simple philosophy don't risk
what I can't afford to lose. So I work to make my Pantera as safe as is
practical for a 40 year+ old car and I try not to push it beyond it's
limits or mine.
Let me ask you a question. If you had a vintage jaguar and were going to
drive it in a track event would you install seat belts? Would you wear a
modern helmet or an old fashioned leather one , or perhaps none at all?
Just how far do you feel keeping it original should go when your life is
involved?

Well mark I guess that why baskin Robbinns makes all those different
fllavors. Different people like different things. I already have
Recarostyle seats in my car ( they are just not brand name or
FIA sanctioned. I have six point harnesses and a stock Pantera seat isn't
effective at maintaining the six point harness in the proper position . In
the event of an accident it is extremely important (IMHO) to have a
properly positioned submarine belt and in order for it to be placed in the
correct position you must have have an anchor point that goes through the
seat ( not wrapped forward around the front of the seat. Improper
