Grundy didn't ask for anything other then a photo of the
car and a description of the modifications.

It was a very simple and painless process.

And speaking of simple and painless...

On numerous occasions I (the registry) have assisted owners.
In one case, the owner had bought a car that was "original"
and shall we say a bit 'tired'.

He restored the car at great expense, and was in the process of sending me
an update when an insurance claim became necessary.

As the registry was able to document what the car looked like before
restoration (Tired)
(and when he started the insurance), and then what it looked like at the
time
of the accident, he was able to document and justify a much higher claim
payout.

Sure the damaged car was available for insurance inspection, but after it
was sitting
in a storage yard for a few months, open, exposed to the rain, dust, etc...
She didn't look like she did when last photographed at a car show.

The moral to the story is take lots of photos of your car NOW, and add them
to the registry.
Simple and Painless. You just may need it later.
