You can close your LinkedIn account on the Privacy &
Settings<http://www.linkedin.com/settings/?&tab=account>
 page:

1. Move your cursor over your photo in the top right of your homepage
and select *Privacy & Settings*.

· You may be prompted to sign in to your account again to get to
your settings.

2. Click the *Account* side tab next to the shield icon near the bottom
left of the page.

3. Under the *Helpful Links* section, select Close your
account<https://www.linkedin.com/secure/settings?closemyaccountstart=>
.

I haven't tried but there are other settings on the Privacy page that may
be set if you don't want to completely close the acct.
