That was a Newsletter article quite a few years ago. and I used cut-down plastic stiffening sleeves from the front seats of an '87 Ford crew-cab pickup. The buckle-half belts are 2X too long to work in a Pantera. Compatible stalk-type buckle supports were uncommon in my Pick N Pull. Sleeves from mid-'80s Buicks also work. Note also that the entire buckle half from the occasional back seats of same Ford pickup are the right length belt & will engage & lock onto Pantera male belt ends, but do not have stiffener sleeves. So you must mix-&-match. Most junkyard buckles will be shiny polished metal, not black leatherette. Do NOT try powder coating shiny buckles- the curing heat will weaken the belt fabric which is not removable.
If you go to a wrecking yard for seat belts, take a large Torx socket & ratchet since the round-head Torx fastener bolt is VERY tight in the floor and you won't be able to loosen it with pliers or other such tools. Also note- the Torx screw will thread into your Pantera recepticle as they're the same metric thread as the stock hex-bolt. The only advantage of stiif buckle-end belt supports is, you can (with practice) simply poke the belt end(s) down toward the stiff part without looking or using two hands. Handy if you're in a hurry, or in LeMans starts.... J DeRyke

It looks like the male end is a lot thinner and smaller than mine (no
anatomy jokes...!) so I don't think the female receptacle would work
with my current belt.
