Hi All: Before I buy the "run-of-the-mill" gaskets from the local auto parts store, I thought I remember someone talking about some "good ones" to go along with a Robert Shaw thermostat. I think they mentioned that there was metal in them, but I could be (and frequently am) wrong. Jack 4348
