[DeTomaso] Beverly Hills Pantera???

Ahhh... this Pantera contains the elusive Z2-Fordomatic transmission
only found in the earliest push-pull models. It's missing the
reverse-oscillating gonkulator that mates the output of the transmission
to the wheel hubs but otherwise the transmission looks bone stock.

The engine appears to be the even rarer 302C, I don't remember if
DeTomaso procured any of those in the early days or not.

It wouldn't surprise me that the engine and trans don't actually go with
this car as it doesn't appear to be an early enough model. I imagine
the sellers will want to keep those items for a later sale because they
could fetch so much more money. I think they were simply dropped in to
"show" how an engine and transmission would sort of look in a Pantera...
just to help it sell.

Just for fun, let's compile a list of things the prospective buyer will
need to keep their eye for to complete this car... hmmm, shall we?

- Headlight buckets (and probably all the wiring that goes with them)
- A new front valence from Johnny Woods
- Radiator
- Radiator fans
- Radiator shroud (top, the sides look like they are in the spare parts)
- Radiator hoses (a full set, top to bottom, front to back)
- Probably new under car cooling tubes
- Clutch master
- Brake master
- oh, and a Battery
- Windshield
- New mirrors
- Interior Door pulls and handles
- The correct seats (?)
- Shift gate
- Maybe new gauges (sheesh, it looks like the one featured was sand-blasted)
- New dash, since this one is delaminating and is cracked
- Seat belts
- New steering wheel cover, or new wheel, take your pick
- some minor pesky rust repairs... oh but it's ARIZONA rust so it can't
be that bad
- Gas tank and presumably all it's associated plumbing
- An engine and transmission (the correct ones of course)
- Exhaust system
- Swirl tank
- Overflow tank (yes, the one pictured is probably full of holes)
- AC pump if you're into staying cool in the Arizona or California sun
- AC condensor
- AC condersor fan
- AC condensor fan shroud
- Half shafts
- The sway bar bushing straps that hold the sway bar to the body in the
rear (look close)
- I think at least one new Campy wheel (it looks like one is cracked and
missing a chunk). Note these are hard to match... ask Mike Drew.
- oh... and a deck lid
- deck lid shocks

Otherwise it's about as stock as you can get*
Salvageable yes, cost a lot, oh yea.
