[DeTomaso] Clutch effor reduction

Good Day listers, My early 71 Pantera came without the clutch effort reduction mechanism. I bought a complete pedal assy out of a car equipped with the setup. Im dreading the install. Should I install the complete pedal assy? or just switch parts?. Will I loose any stroke? I think MIke said I had to shorten the clutch rod. Any advice would be nice before I start.
