I also switched to DOT R compound tires yrs ago and now cannot be without them on the street.

The performance is amazing.

I can't wait for my Yokos to go so I can change to Michelin TBs on the original 15" wheels.

   Mike,
I actually have Kumo ecsta v710 tires
315's out back and 245's up front all 18"
they are a Dot Road Racing tires..
use them for the track for a while
then later they are my street tires
not really recommended for the street
but I was tired of changing back and
forth from street to race tires.. I have
two sets of wheels.. the one set has
the fresher race tires and the other has
the old tires.. I did buy BF Goodrich Rival
tires for the Optima gig so they are on the
car now but not even close to a Dot race tire
Hoping to bolt the new ones on this weekend
   to go for a spin
   Bob

Did you go with the Khumo Exsta XS?  Had a set on for about 5 years, will
look to get another year or two out of them.  I like the 315 size, allows
for more clearance with the rear muffler, and the price is great next to the
Euro skins.

You guys are a lot braver than me
I just got rid of my Dot Kumos that
I ran on the street for about 7-8 years
They still look good.. stay inside all
the time but as we are getting "old"
time to put them out to pasture... ran
them briefly on the track in their earlier years but if they are over 2
years old then no more tracking them for me

New ones are being mounted today
for hopefully the Virginia City Hillclimb-September and then Thunderhill in
October otherwise they stay off the car
