Tom,
Ok, no flare adapter. Just a dumbass who put an o-ring where it didn't belong.
At CCS? At your A/C shop? We'll never know.
Then another (the same???) dumbass at your shop screwed on the AN fitting.
The now-deformed-by-your-A/C-shop flare is seriously compromised. You should not have to "hope" it will still perform satisfactorily.
Not only that, are you really ok with AGAIN repeating this whole process when that hope turns to failure and your A/C goes non-op?
IMHO
Demand - politely, of course - your shop procure a proper straight female flare, remove the damaged flare, TIG the straight flare, and then your problems are properly fixed without the "hope" factor.
