Acetone is supposed to dissolve ABS plastic.
Remember our thread a few months back about fixing cracked dashes? I have
mine apart right now, and I¹m going to try using acetone to ³weld² the
plastic back together. I got the idea from a guy that bought a Viper that
needed lots of repairs. He melted some legos to glue some of the ABS
plastic. I¹m not planning on melting legos, but I want to try using
acetone to glue the cracks, and then I will probably put epoxy on the back
side.
At any rate, you might be able to use acetone to clean the headers.
