[DeTomaso] Condenser fitting

I don't think the shoulder is a problem. It is there to seat the o-ring. It appears from your initial photo that the o-ring adapter was never seated properly into the condenser fitting. You should not be able to see the o-ring. The shoulder may be keeping the AN flare from seating on the 45* flare however. If it were me I would have the flare fitting on the hose changed to an o-ring fitting and be done with it.
Good luck,
Forest

Sometimes I amaze myself how stupid I can be.

I received a lot of good advise suggesting that I had a flare adapter
in an o-ring fitting on my condenser.  I was convinced enough to go try
and pull the adapter out of the fitting.
Well, when I pulled back the threaded barrel that screws into the
female flare fitting guess what I saw.   It is a straight flare.   I'm
now guessing (as Larry Finch suggested) that the shoulder on the flare
was created when the AN fitting was tightened down on it.
So now I'm trying to figure out my next move beyond replacing the AN
connector.  Can the flare be reworked to remove the shoulder?
   Tom
