[DeTomaso] Condenser fitting

Sometimes I amaze myself how stupid I can be.

I received a lot of good advise suggesting that I had a flare adapter in an o-ring fitting on my condenser. I was convinced enough to go try and pull the adapter out of the fitting.

Well, when I pulled back the threaded barrel that screws into the female flare fitting guess what I saw. It is a straight flare. I'm now guessing (as Larry Finch suggested) that the shoulder on the flare was created when the AN fitting was tightened down on it.

So now I'm trying to figure out my next move beyond replacing the AN connector. Can the flare be reworked to remove the shoulder?
