I wasn't too impressed with BMWs electric, either. Or Harley-Davidson's new electric bike. It has about a 50-mile range!

Tesla is flat out lying on its financial statements. It uses non-GAAP
accounting to get away with claiming they made a profit by selling
regulatory credits to other car makers. I wouldn't touch their cars or
their stock with a 10 foot pole.

At Rotary yesterday the speaker was from BMW. He was talking about their
new electric car, and the subject of Tesla came up. His opinion was that
Tesla wasn't a large enough company to be viable on it's own, and that
Mercedes might buy it; this would also help Mercedes get their average MPG
figures down to meet the coming CAFE standards. He said that currently,
Mercedes is way over the requirements and could be facing large fines when
the new regulations take effect.

I'm not sure if he is accurate, but it was interesting.
