[DeTomaso] Dual Remote oil filters

As Gray mentioned, the Ferrari specific Fram or Baldwins have anti drain back valves so they can be mounted upside down.

As far as changing the filters, you usually puncture a hole in the top of the filter to facilitate some draining of the retained oil.

You will also want to take a plastic trash bag and cut a small hole in the bottom to tightly stretch over the filter. As you loosen it, the oil goes into the bag and not onto anything below.

Not sure it would be worth the extra parts and failure points.

I've never experienced any of the problems mentioned here on Ferraris with the filters mounted upside down like the ones in your pictures. Maybe the filter models used for this configuration have better anti drain back valves?
