Yea, my car isn't in that list.

7. Pantera in primer and most of the critical parts in boxes on every
available shelf in the garage.

IMHO

there are 6 kinds of running Panteras

1) All Original

2) Mildly Modified with removeable elements where originality is attainable

3) Mechanically Modified ( not easily reversable) while maintaining an
Original look

4) Highly Modified in both Ext appearence and/or Mechanically

5) A clone of a GTS, GT4, GT5, etc.

6) I started with a Pantera.........

Michael Shortt ( I'd consider mine in the 3rd category )

I hope that the Pantera folks don't start getting roiling underwear about
originality in Panteras. We would all be sunk then! ---BILL Lewis

In a story about aJan auctions, Mecum vs BJ.

DeTomaso Pantera

At Mecum,
<http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detail.cfm?LOT_ID=FL0114-172060&entryRow=
2893> you'd have paid $49,500 to take home a 1974 example of the
increasingly desirable Pantera. At Barrett-Jackson, a 1971 car
<http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx
?ln=1650&aid=525> would have set you back $48,400. The difference is
originality -- the early B-J car is tuned, to put it mildly, with flashy
five-spokes and a nitrous-oxide system. Depending on your perspective, this
is either a huge improvement or an unacceptable desecration. Compare that to
the "highly original" Mecum car.

Winner: We'd vote for the unmolested car at Mecum, but that's personal
preference at play. This one's inconclusive.
