...maybe not exceptional, but definitely stock bodied and they were bid to
90K and 100K respectively, right Mark?

I saw the last two Panteras at the Mecum auction and they were not totally
original. One had poor fitting after market carpet and there was a
fiberglass front bumper on one. One had a patch one the left rear wheel
housing (bare metal exposed). The under coating underneathe the cars was
removed and sprayed black. Some over spray was on the headers. As the tub
was in place in both cars, inspection would have been limited. The red/bk
GTS was resprayed. They were nice but I wouldn't consider them exceptional.

I guess the styling isn't exactly to anyone else's taste either Chris...
or
  not many.

Stock body cars seem to be where the values are going. The factory styling
appeals to a broader base of buyers with the cash, I guess.

Under 50K? That's incredible. I remember reading the Popular Hotrodding
article a year or two ago, and that car was amazing. The styling wasn't
exactly to my taste, but seeing a Pantera in that kind of show condition
for
that price makes me think I shouldn't dump any more money in my car, but
sell it and just spend a few more bucks and get a car like the one that
just
sold. It would sure be a lot less work than trying to get my car all
shiny!
  Sincerely,
  Chris

The two Panteras at the Mecum auction in Kissimmee that had high
preauction
estimates were no sales with high bids of $90K and $100K
