[DeTomaso] Vitaloni Baby Turbo mirrors

Anyone familiar with how the glass is mounted in the Vitaloni Baby Turbo mirrors? These are the ones with the fixed glass and the mirror head adjusts. I have a pair I'd like to repaint in body color and it would be a neater job if the glass could be removed, but I don't see how that can be done without breaking it out.
