[DeTomaso] Skyrocketing Prices

I think there are many other factors involved here.

First of all, the government has been manipulating inflation numbers like
they have the job numbers. If calculated now the same way it was 10 years
ago would be in the neighborhood of 10%. Everyone knows the inflation
number has been a lie and everything going on is making it worse.

The price of everything has been going up not just because of one single
thing, but because of many things including the billions pumped into the
stock market and the massive amount of regulations being pumped out for a
1000 reasons. The cost of doing business is well known as rural areas
shrivel up and die because it simply is not feasible.

$5 in profit isn't worth putting in a box and shipping any more. I tried
selling some of my old MGB stuff after the restoration. I had fairly new
lever arm shocks and sold them for $20 which is half core cost. The guy
who bought them said when he turned them upside down they dripped a
little. I agreed to take them back......then proceeded to throw the rest
of my excess MGB parts in the trash. It wasn't worth my time.

Now you get, as touched upon, older people who either want some value out
of a part or don't want to spend time messing with it.

I think at least when you get a group of people together such as this we
often trade for things for reasonable amounts or some times for
nothing....Outside the group there is little desire to do so.

Just my thoughts.
